This course is designed to give you the skills you need to take care of your bike. You will learn how to repair flat tires, how and when to do routine maintenance. How to make shifting and brake adjustments. You will also learn how to assess your bike for major repairs, preform safety checks, and comfort adjustments. By the end of this course you will feel confident that you can perform repairs or adjustments on the side of the road or at home. The course is split into two classes, two hours on Saturday and three hours Sunday. Classes scheduled twice a month through the end of the year. We will offer an advanced repair class for those interested.
Saturday
We will meet at Collin’s Cycle.at 5:30pm
5:30-6:00 – introduction/safety checks
6:00-7:30 – flat repair/determining cause/ new tube installation/patching
Sunday
Meet at the shop at noon
12:00-12:15 – Question/Answer
12:15-1:15 – Brake adjustments / barrel adjustments / Disc brake, cable, hydraulic
1:15-2:15 – Shift adjustments / barrel adjustments
2:15-2:45 – assessing for major repairs
2:45-3:00 – Evaluation sheet / gift bag
