Who needs to be fitted on their bicycle?… EVERYONE!
OK, so I agree it sounds like a sales pitch.. However, read on so you don’t miss something that can change your life in a positive way!
We believe people who ride fall into 3 distinct categories:
1) Commuter: This person rides from point A to B and their main focus it to get to their destination with out pain, with efficiently, and with as much reliably as possible.
2) Enthusiast: Enjoys cycling and enjoys bicycles. This person probably commutes to work, however will also ride on days off. The Enthusiast may take trips and do some kind of touring. They will use the bicycle as a cross training tool to stay in shape.
3) Performance: Riders that fall into this category will use the bicycle as a main tool for fitness and fun. These riders will be concerned with wanting to go faster, or father, or both. These folks look at equipment as a means to improve their speed and to be able to ride farther.
Why does the commuter need to be fitted? Position on the bike is paramount for the commuter. There have been dozens of advancements to bicycles over the years. If someone is riding an older bike, it might not have many of the current benefits of a new bicycles. NO, this does not mean they will need a new bike. We have the expertise to make their existing bike much better.
We offer a “Comfort Consultation” fit. This fit is tailored for the commuter. The C.C. fit is done by appointment only. You will bring your bicycle in and have one on one time with a skilled fit technician in our private fit room. There we will remove your current handle bar and stem and install several options for you to try out while your bicycle is safely on a stationary trainer. You will get to try out several new positions, as well as new ergonomic grips and seats before you pay for anything! We will take the guessing out of you “trying” something that some so called “expert” is telling you will work for you. We only want you to pay for what you want, and know what you will get.
The Comfort fit: $50.00 10% discount on parts
Time estimate: 45-60 minutes
What we do: We install different combinations of bars, and /or stems and grips on your bike. Then you ride in the new position to make sure it’s what you want. You ride your bike in our private fit room on a stationary trainer. You may also try different saddles, this way you get the most comfort from your bicycle and know what you’re paying for.
We tailored a fit for the enthusiast as well. We start with the comfort fit, and build on that, to find the balance between efficiency and comfort. This fit is also done by appointment only. You will have one on one time with a certified fit technician in our private fit room. We will use the newest technology in “Motion Capture Software” to analyze you riding your bike in a 2 dimensional plane. We will set your seat height, fore and aft, cleat position, recommend the correct stem, and handle bar for you. This fit is designed to minimize injuries, maximum power, and give you more comfort on your bike than you have ever had.
The 2D fit: $150.00 Plus any parts
Time estimate: 1 ½ hours
What we do: We put your bike on a stationary trainer in our private fit room and set the optimum saddle height and the forward and aft position of the saddle. We analyze and establish the best cleat position in relation to all the saddle settings. Recommend correct stem length, rise, and establish handle bar width. Evaluate fit in all positions; reach to the hoods, drops and bar ends.
Performance Riders have their special fit as well. Of course we take the other 2 fits and expand them for the most comprehensive fit anywhere. You will have one on one time with our lead certified fit technician in our private fit room. We will use the Motion Capture Software to analyze you riding your bike in a
3 dimensional plane. We will set your seat height, fore and aft, cleat position, recommend the correct stem, and handle bar for you. We analyze your alignment from the hip, knee and foot to create an efficient single dimensional plane over the pedal that gives you more power and more stability than you have ever had.
In the past you either got performance or you got comfort. With the equipment and the experience of our certified technicians now we believe the new performance is comfort!
Ask yourself, how do you feel after ½ way into a 40, 50, or 100 mile ride or race? What if you felt 40% or even 50% better? Do you think that could be a advantage???? Heck yea and less pain can speed recovery time too. That is a win, win.
The 3D fit: $250 Plus parts
Time estimate: 2 ½ hours
What we do: The same as the 2D fit with the addition to alignment of knee, hip and foot to maximize power and efficiency to the pedals using our 3D motion capture software. This is where maximum power comes from and the best place to relieve any pain in the; knee, foot, back, and lower back. This helps prevent injuries as well as gaining efficiency.
For the person who wants even more…we can use a Computrainer to evaluate your spin. This is very useful to get the most from each 360 degree revolution of your crank. If there is a soft or dead spot or if slight changes in position can increase your efficiency we can determine this and make any changes to make you faster.
The 3D spin scan: $300 Plus parts.
Time estimate: 3 hours
What we do: Same as the 3D fit, but we isolate your left and right leg pedal efficiency. Record this information so you can compare later. This is how you become the fastest you can be on your bike. We are able to measure and substantiate the improvement.
The Spin Scan: $100 No parts needed
Time estimate: 30-45 minutes
What we do: We isolate your left, and right legs pedal efficiency. We generate and record numbers and data for you to retain and compare later to mark improvements.
All re-scans: $25.00 No parts needed
Time estimate: 15-30 minutes
