Our essay contest about why you deserve a free fixed gear was such a great success we thought we would try to top it. We call it “Create your own adventure.” A spin off of the classic “choose your own adventure” books we read as kids. Instead of choosing which way the story will go, you get to write which way the story will go.

Collins Cycle Shop will write and post an opening paragraph that will be the start of this epic story. You get to write the next paragraph. We will post all the paragraph entrys and after two weeks of posts, we will vote on the best one and add it to the story. The story will be 7 paragraphs long including our starter.

You can enter as many times as you want. Not just every two weeks, but as many paragraphs per session as you like. You can only be selected to have your section added to the story once, but you can still share your ideas and paragraphs during the rest of the story. Each paragraph must be PG13 rated and must be between 4-7 sentences. I will not publish profanity or perversion. If I have an issue with what you wrote, I will contact you and we can discuss alternatives. Make sense?

Please cut and paste your paragraph into an e-mail body and sent it to epictale@yahoo.com Let us know if you want your or A name posted with your paragraph.

We will have prizes for all 5 winners and the grand prize going to the winner of the conclusion paragraph.

Paragraph 1: An Epic Tale

Debbie was 16, and like most teenagers, she diden’t have it easy. She did well in school on the days that she actually made it there, but those days were becoming few and far between.  Here mom worked nights and dad hasent been seen sense the day she was born. Late nights and even later mornings made it impossible to catch the bus to school, and there was nothing about a half hour walk that was appealing. One afternoon Debbie was digging around in the basement and found her moms old 10 speed bike. For the first time in too long, no matter how hard she tried to fight it, a smile overtook Debbie’s face.
